Drawing On Desks

At school, many students have the urge to write on the school desks and graffiti such things as their name, a question so that other students may answer it in another lesson, or some students even go to great lengths to scracth stuff into the desk with a drawing pin or scissors.
On one occasion a certain boy happened to scratch into the desk, "poo in a can" with a circle around it so it looked like a can.
Everyone thought it was really funny to see this boys artwork on the desk. This boy never thought he'd get caught, but even though teachers don't say anything at the time they are watching everything you do.
This boy was sent up to the headmasters office and was told to pay for the desk, Im not one hundered percent sure how much it costed but it was around $150.
This boy was devastated that he actually got caught and had to pay for a new desk, but that didn't stop anyone from still writing on the desks.
So the writing kept coming, it was like mail sent from someone unknown for you to read during class. Teachers were mortified that people were still writing on the desk, but yet it didn't stop.

Its still continuing to happen, students contine to graffiti on schools property and write offensive things about other students and about which teacher is gay or not or who needs to go to hell...
These things that are written on the desks also distract other people from learning and listening in class, they are more focused on whats on the desk rather than what the teachers are saying. Also if the language is really bad the teachers have a little cleaning fest at the start of the lesson for 15minutes, which wastes learning time that would be useful, especially since its school certificate at the end of the year.
Wouldn't it be great if the desks could clean themsealves, it would save alot of valuable time.

Student and Teacher relationships....

I am in year 10 at the moment, so i have a pretty good idea on how students view certain teachers.
In a recent class, last period of the day, students behaved worse than ever. The teacher was new, young, nice, and had a very gentle voice, and yet the students of this class disrespected her numerous times thoughout the lesson. Unfortunately during this lesson there was a an exam happening, a competition which didn't necessarily go towards the school certificate but there were some people in the class that wanted to complete it, to try and get an award.
Some students thought it would be funny to do the multiple choice in a zig-zag pattern because thay couldn't really care less. Some students thought it would be funny to ask stupid questions such as "do I write my name on my sheet". Some other students thought they would talk, disrupt the lesson and yell out silly comments; all to get the teachers attention and to make her feel dreadful.
After many failing attempts to try and calm the students down and to get them to do the test, she resorted to putting students outside or to see the 'head of the senior school' who would hopefully discipline them. Naturally these students who were told to leave made some "witty" comment as they walked out, making the rest of the class laugh, and leaving the teacher feeling even more inferior. By the end of the class, the longest 50 minutes ever for that poor teacher, after students had marked any answer on the question sheet and made patterns, she collected them and let them go.
So had the students fulfilled there mission, to make a new teacher feel welcome in a new school? Some students felt appalling, some thought it was funny to bring this teacher down and some felt ashamed, the fact that they had broken down a teacher in class.
As i left the class i was one of the people who felt terrible, that i had sat there and smiled and watched this teacher be ripped to shreads infront of the whole class. i went back and apologized to her after, she managed to form a smile. I couldn't imagine what this poor teacher was thinking.
I would like to put this question to school students, especially in year 10, how would you feel? How would you like it if you were trying to teach a lesson and there were some students who mucked around, threw paper, yelled inappropriate things and disrupted the people who were trying to learn, becasue the teacher has to put all there energy into making you be quiet and listen ???
My mother is a teacher at the same school, and is also friends with this poor teacher who suffered an awful lesson that day. She comforted this teacher after the class was over, and this teacher was a mess.
Teachers have feeling too.
Students, days after, still talked about the incident how funny it was that they made a teacher really upset. They said "if she gave us the respect, we would give her respect." What kind of accusation is that? You need to respect teachers. They have a hard job.You may think writing essays and doing assignments is hard, try being a teacher and having to mark them, write reports, plan lesson and try to control a class at the same time.
Some students make it there duty to give teachers a hard time because they don't like that certain subject, i say those students need to get a life, because there are so many other students that want to learn and excell to get ready for there furture.
This may seem bias, but teachers try their hardest to make the lesson fun, let you play games and talk and have a good time, while learning. Don't have ago at them, have ago at the students in your class who make trouble and stop the rest of the class from enjoying the subject and having fun.
